Jim Olmstead
Oral History Project Manager
The Gordon-Wascott Oral History Project was designed and implemented by author and historian Jim Olmsted in collaboration with a Wisconsin Humanities Fellowship and the Gordon-Wascott Historical Society. The goal of the project is to preserve and document the history of the original Gordon Township, including the communities of Gordon, Wascott, and Dairyland, as well as the memories of the people who live or recreate there. This website highlights the stories of community members and fosters a deeper understanding of the area’s history. This project collects and preserves the Gordon-Wascott community’s memories, builds community pride, fulfills a civic duty to document the past, and furthers our understanding of the social and cultural history of the area.
Thank you to Lisa Hall for her work as our webpage creator and manager and to the Gordon-Wascott Historical Society board members who have enthusiastically supported this project from its inception.

This project is ongoing, and additional interviews will be posted when ready. If you are interested in participating in this project, please email the GWHS. Here is a link to the general questionnaire and consent form. Both are PDF printable forms.
